Welding a beer keg
I have a keg that I'd like to weld for my own "purposes." I've read that most are 304L. Any idea about the thickness of metal that a generic keg is built of? ...and recommendations for electrode type? I've read ER316L... Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks.
Thanks.

make sure you damp it a lot. coat the inside with something and weld in some cross bars. cool idea
you can mix sand an silicon caulking and make a nice cheap sound deadning that would be perfect for that. It will weigh as much as a full keg after though....which is good in the audio world

I work in the brewing industry, we have kegs all over the shop and have built Bar-b-Q's, turkey fryers out of them. They will weld just fine with 308 filler. 316 will work too, but is not needed.
