well..im new to the game too my friend
i got my 01 gsr back in july and since then have done much more than i expected in this amoutn of time
first off id suggest one thing....dont skimp on cheap parts
cheap parts = poorly made/low quality = headaches in the end

save up and get what you hear is good
i might be having my comptech 4-2-1 stainless steel headers for sale soon....let me know if you are interested...only 1,500 miles on them
they are top of the line if you ask me...second to the spoon/toda/mugen/jun headers that run for around 900 dollars

dont take the cheap way out...youll be dissapointed in the end....save your money and spend it wisely...get back to me on those headers
with my intake/header/exhaust package i gained 12 to the wheels after one pull on a dyno

well the best advice i could give you is leave it stock, and learn how to drive before modding if it is new. However there is no fun in leaving it stock. Actually i retract what i said. I would look into an intake first, as it is usually the first mod people do. Thers not much to an intake, and since your on a strict budget it sounds like, maybe an ebay 3" intake and K&N filter will do. Then i would do some more research before you start lego building and not getting the full potential out of your motor. So, i would look into a nice 4-1 2.5" header, 2.5" cat and exhaust. Or maybe a nice 4-2-1 to keep good mid-range. Look into the comptech 4-2-1 tig header for that. Awesome piece btw . Remember to always plan ahead, and know what you want to do with the car. Will you run the 1/4 mile, AutoX whatever. Im just trying to save you money and do things right the first time or you will regret it. I would suggest saving for nicer parts as well. then move on to exterior mods, lip, ext. Oh do suspension too first

EDIT: damn you beat me too it dont let it happen again or else....

My suggestion would be to do the suspension first. Maybe some omnipower coilovers and an ITR rear sway bar. Or, if you have a limited budget, some sport/race springs with nice adjustable shocks. As for the exterior, I'd keep the blades and just add an ITR lip.
As for purchasing the parts, look around in the classifieds and the sponsor marketplace. Talk to them, and they'll give you a nice deal.

And yes, welcome to H-T.

well, my first mod was... drum roll please...
a short shifter!!!
my next mod will be... more drum roll please...
an AEM cold air intake!!! (i'm waiting at my door for mr. ups-its been over a week now me sad)
The next mod i forsee in the near future is some teins or some brand from japan. (the way i see things are, you can't go wrong with made in japan products!)
furture mods will be headers then exhaust then rims then this then that then i'll be like "holy smoke, thats alot of money i spent"
THE END

HI, I have a 1994 GSR running:
DC 4-1 stainless 1 piece header
60mm catback tubing
magnaflow rear muffler
comptech ice box intake
aem cam gears
hondata

It runs a respectable 165hp to the wheels on the dyno
During the baseline run it ran about 140hp to the wheels
Just the exhaust and intake gave the car an extra 20hp to 160hp at the wheels, your aem intake will yeild very similar results. Then tuning the ecu and cam gears gave it an extra eight horsepower through the midrange and 5 hp on top. I would go for the teins because they are one of the best for the money.

Intake = 15 hp
exhaust = 12 hp
header(s) = 10 hp

Equals = 37 hp
Divide by 7 to get actual hp = 5.29 hp

welcome to VTEC addiction

If I could go back and do it all over again I would:

get a nice set of tires and lightweight rims, leave everything stock.
go to the road course and learn how to drive on the track. see what
works on setups and learn as you go before you spend money on
parts. spend your money on the track. replace parts as they break
with proven peices. the more you drive on the roadcourse, the more
you will see that its not all about mods

http://www.chinmotorsports.com for example. alot of guys start out soft
and know they need to learn. this is the noob that will get smarter.
noobiness is good, because we all need to learn something

I also have a 2000 GSR. Engine is stock and I'll proably leave it at that.

I just got an ITR rear sway and will also lower it a little, some new sticky tires and I'm a happy GSR owner.

If you just bought an integra, your first mods should be security modifications, or else you wont have it for long, no matter what you do to it. Get a paging alarm system with fuel cut-off, also search on the site for the hood latch wire relocation mod. If you find your self thinking twice about doing security mods first, just do a search on here for "stolen integras".......
