Default More Tranny Symptoms...

First off the car is a 92 hatch.....I dont really drive the car alot considering it isnt registered or anything Ive maybe drove it 10 miles since i got it a couple months ago.....When i first got it it did not engage into first or reverse. I changed the fluid and installed poly bushings. Still didnt work then like a week or so later they magically somehow worked. Then about a month later i installed lowering springs and drove it around a mile or two at the most then just two days ago I go to move it and it dosent what so ever engage...I checked the linkages, fluids, and nothing.
What could possibly be a fix?

After talking to a buddy I kno he offered a 93 VX tranny (no grinds) with a almost new clutch for 250 installed...I still have to trailer the car about an hour away though....Is that a somewhat good deal?

Turn your shifter around. Did it work?

i dunno. perhaps your syncros or clutch not functioning? did you try putting it in another gear before going into 1st or reverse? try neutral-4th-reverse.

vx tranny is one you should stay away from. the gearing sucks. look around for a ex/si tranny for a little more. you wont be dissappointed.

Isnt reverse going to be the straight thru gear? So either the transmission is stuck ( missing a lot of teeth) or it is just a clutch thing. Have you had a clutch inspection? Did you look at the shift levers under the car?
