TSX 6th Gear & stock S final drive? Yes or NO?
I'v been reading posts and havnt come up with a real decisive answer. I was told that a tsx 6th gear will not work with the stock type s final drive. I dont know why it would work with another final drive and not the stock. So does anyone know for sure? thanks

Yeah someone please explain!

No it will work with a stock type S final drive but it is pointless to do because you won't have any power to handle the tsx 6th gear. The only reason put a tsx 6th gear is because they get the ats 5.01 final drive and they get the 6th gear because there gearing is so low that in order for them to obtain reasonable gas mileage they add the tsx 6th gear.

The tsx 6th gear is taller which means loss in acceleration in 6th but better fuel economy, so when cruisin on the highway your rpms would be lower in 6th gear.

well right now i got 203 at the wheels and i'll be gettin cams soon so i think i'll have enough hp to have it pull pretty decently in 6th.

And you have 203whp at probably 7500rpm, no where near cruising speed in 6th.

Don't do it unless you change the final drive. The type s gear ratios are well matched.
If you put the type r final drive in, then you may want the TSX 6th gear so that your
not screaming on the freeway. I have the TSX 6th and the type r final drive. There's a
bigger difference between 5th and 6th than I expected. But I didn't want the engine to
be screaming going down the freeway.
