I recently brought a 88 CRX dx auto. I tried a dx to si sohc swap once before and the car didnt run right after i wired it now i want to try again. Like the title says dx auto to b16 5-speed, anything special i need to know????? I read on another web site (d-series.org) that you can use obd2 injector clips w/ y8 injectors so u dont have to wire in the resistor box. Has anyone ever heard of this???? Correct me if im wrong but obd2 is 95 and up, and the y8 would be 96 and up vtec, right!?
Since my car doesn't have the "keyhole" beside the shifter i dont have to break the steerin wheel lock do i??
I've read different things on dx to sohc & dohc vetc swaps but never one auto to 5-speed. I know alot about hondas but not when it comes to wiring injectors and ecu's. Now I know for sure that the swap im gettin includes motor, trans, mounts, linkage, ecu, axles, and harness. all I need to do is tell him the color of the plugs white or green. ANY HELP AS LONG AS IT'S GOOD HELP.

Wiring is easy.Use the dx harness and run a few extra wires for the injectors and cyp sensor, along with wires for the vtec,2nd o2 and knock sensor.
All you will need is the manual pedal assembly and shift linkage(along with the rest of the swap parts). There is a plug that goes to the auto shifter to prevent the starter from engaging when not in park or neutral. When removing the auto shifter, the other side of this plug gets taken with the shifter. You will need to jump the starter wire back into itself, either at the plug or remove the wires from this plug and connect them together.
I have never tried using the obd1 or obd2 injectors on an obd0 ecu when doing this swap,as I've never needed to.I have heard of this though and it could work, but wiring the resistor box is extremely easy.
The keyhole at the shifter is only used for unlocking the shifter lock when the car isnt turned on,since the lock is powered.
