Default Head is not getting any oil? any suggestions?

my cousin was driving around 60mph on the freeway when his timing belt snapped. so we towed the car back to his cousins house, where i pulled the head, then had the bent valves replaced, etc. bought a new headgasket, timing belt and tensioner.

after that, i put the head back on, torqued everything down to spec, and the car ran fine for 2 days. afterward, the motor started making a "metal to metal" noise. it sounded like it was coming from the head, like the cams were grinding against the cam caps/journals. eventually the car died and wouldnt start.

so we towed it back to his house, and i pulled off the valve cover. normally there would be oil all over the springs and cams and such, but there was no oil in the head. it was dry. i checked the oil level on the dip stick and there was plenty of oil in the oil pan.

any suggestions what it could be? i was thinking the oil pump may have gone bad. lmk thanks.

The oil control jet may have become plugged when you pulled the head. Only way to check it is to pull the head again.

not sure if this is any help but could it be the oil pump?

i remember i accidently disconnected the oil pump and it was making the motor squeal and idle rough.

Duh? I think you should bring your car to a mechanic.

So you pulled and installed the head and oil pump in less then a day?

Buddy, I hate to say it, but if you can install a head you should be able to diagnose this problem looking at the motor much better then we can reading cryptic text.
