Default Car stolen, PA. Recovered. Having problems. Read please.

Well about 3 weeks ago my car was stolen from work and it was reported immediately. They caught the guy. He was taken into custody. But now im dealing with the aftermath. The guy that was caught is into the whole "gang" scene. Drama this, revenge that. And im scared to drive my damn car, afraid to put new stuff on it, etc. This would prolly go in GDD but im trial so, yeah . What would you guys do? Im honestly afraid for me and my car too. I almost wanna sell it. Im laying low, i dont want it to escalate. Flame if you must, but at least a few replys please?

-Mike

it sucks dealing with those types of people, because honestly, with their sheer numbers and willingness to break the law/moral code - they can be very intimidating. If I were you, part of what you may want to do is to simply swap cars. That, and depending upon how threatening these types may be - take further precautions (read: baseball bat).

That sucks man. Harrisburg isn't the greatest place to have anything nice, either.

It would probably be best to sell the car. I got a beater (92 civic hb) stolen and recovered - caught the guys and same story as you. My second beater (98 civic hb) broken into twice in the same area - never caught anyone.

I sold the 92 civic hb and about the sell the 98 - local thieves probably laughing ever time they walk by and see my car. That's enough of a reason to sell.

That really sucks. A thief gets busted for HIM doing something illegal, so he gets mad at YOU? Bastard deserves a serious beatdown just for being such a ******* idiot. I'd go with the swapping cars thing as well.

On the subject of guns, while you may not want to put yourself in the position where you'd shoot someone, I do remember a story from a year or two ago about some gang members (maybe in the Tri-state area? dunno) who got pissed off at a guy when they tried stealing his car and he kicked their asses, they come back, try running him over, wind up shooting him 3 or 4 times, killing him. They got caught I think, but you don't want to be the dead guy there. If you have the self-control necessary, maybe pick something up as a "just-in-case".

I think if you don't want to put yourself in harms way, I would try to drop the charges so this gang banger wouldn't be too mad at you and maybe he'll just forget about you. If he doesn't get locked up then he should be greatful that you let him off. There's not way out of this, even though you change cars, he still knows where you work. I say take a lost and let this idiot go. My .02

But if you think about it, is it worth it if you or someone you know got hurt or even killed because of a car? I don't think so.
