Default Steering and Idle

When I first move the wheel out of a centered position the car seems to idle pretty rough for an instant- almost like it wants to die, it wasn't so bad before, but it seems to be getting progressively worse. Just got a new battery, what else could it be?

IAC is the more likely culprit but preludes also have a power steering pressure switch. When PS pressure goes up, it tells the ECU to increase idle to compensate for extra load. Clean IAC and clean up the switch too, it's on your pressure metal line. It will be a messy job and you'll lose almost all of your p.s. fluid, but just think of it as a p.s. flush.

Which part is the IAC ? I assume this is on the intake along the PGMFI labelled part between the runners and the injectors ...

How would a person clean this ??

If not, check alternator output.

it's #40 if that helps. take it off and clean it with some carb cleaner. it's only two bolts and it shouldn't be a problem. also get a tune up if you haven't had one in a while
