Default 4-1 HEADER on ACCORD

Apparently '94-'97 Accord LX's have 4-1 headers.

Does anyone know anything about them... and if it would be cool to slap on my f22 vtec. Power gains would be nice...

4-2-1 sucks :D

They are god awful. Get a Kamikaze or custom Hytech if u want a 4-1. OEM lx manifolds are poo.

what's the difference between 4-2-1 and 4-1? I know what each looks like but that's about it

4-2-1 tends to make more low end and mid range torque and hp, whereas a 4-1 tends to make most of the power in the higher rpms, a.k.a. high end power.

anyone here have any experience with Hytech headers? there really seems to be no consensus on a good quality header for F22 motors...

Hytech's are custom made to specs u desire. They are about $1300. You cant go wrong with a Hytech. Most folks that get a header for an F22 just slap on a DC 4-2-1. John (i think thats his name) from Hytech posts here, usually in the Hype R forum.

Yea,,, I have a ceramic coated DC 4-2-1 on my F22B1.

It looks a whole lot better than the cast iron stock muffler but not a lot of hp gains for the money. Maybe a couple of %. Most of my power came from hi flo cat, greddy exhaust and AEM CAI.

And,,, I am thinking about turbo this spring. So now I have to take it off !!

well, you probably got most of the power as a result of having all of the aforementioned things working in colloboration...

Hytech headers are the best on the market in quality and performance, but you pay a huge price for the power gained. Its all in what you want. Personally i like the Kamikaze headers, much better quality than the DC.

Did u ever have to do inspectino after u got the cat? I'm still in process of searching for a hi-flo cat that can pass emissions.

I had my insepction in July. In MA we need emissions testing every two years,,, and this was my year for emissions,,,,,, I was a little anxious about it but it passed no problem.

I have the random tech hi flo cat. But states have different requirements and I am sure the manufacturer will not gaurentee anything,,,,,,,, but Random Tech says, 50 states emission legal,,,,,,,,,,
