Default Input needed

Yes, it is another "what do you think of my welds" thread I didn't want to do it but I think it's neccesary to ask in order to know what changes to make before I started my manifold.
This was done with a mig, i'm teaching myself how to weld. Let me know what I've done wrong or right. Thanks.

Whats your method? semi circle or spot and then overlay with another spot?


they look good. Cut one in half and check penetration.

i do spot then overlay. I prefer this method over semicircle.

The major advantage of gmaw is speed. Why don't you just lay stringer beads, the metal looks to be more than thick enough to not blow through.

It doesn't look like you have much penetration at all. Cut that thing apart and see.

All the professional mig'ing i've seen has been a solid bead, not a tig look-alike. I usually just form the puddle and cruise while maintaining the trailing puddle.

Pretty welds don't always mean strong welds
