ok i got a gsr everything is new except the water pump i just replaced the radiator to a gsr radiator changed the thermostat and burped the system...the fans kicked...then later in the day i was gettin on it and it started hitting 3/4 on the gauge at a light...i started driving and it cools to normal temp unless i keep ripping on it...and now my fans wont kick even if i rebleed the system...so i have no clue what else to do...there are new fluids new thermo new radiator and i know the fans work cz the worked for a day and when it starts heating up it starts filling my reservoir so i dont know what i have left to do any help?
Also if you smell exhuast coming out of the radiator its also your headgasket. is there any white smoke coming from your exhuast? Does it sound like it has a miss after you sit for a minute?

when you start the car how does it start up? does it start right up, or does it stumble?
i don't think it sounds like your headgasket.
a faulty headgasket would not allow your car to cool once you start driving it, like you are explaining.
this seems to be a problem with your cooling fans.
check the fuses and relays to the fan, and also the coolant temprature sensor.
if your using the wrong relay, i have seen this be a problem, when a similar but diffrent relay was not allowing the fans to come on.

Actually you can still have a car that cools down while driving and still have a blown head gasket. If it's a small leak the air traveling through the radiator is just enough to keep the temp under control. But when you slow down or stop the temp shoots back up.

then he would most likely have no heat, it would stumble upon startup, and he would be losing coolant.
it sounds like the fans not turning on, and when he drives, thats simulating a fan and it cools the car back down.
also the fact that it does it when he is ''hitting on it''.
