How much oil are you burning between oil changes? Some loss is normal, especially on GSR's I hear.

DO a compression test and see what you get. Add a squirt or 2 of oil to each cylinder. If the compression goes up you might still have bad rings. If it doesn't go up and you changed you valve stem seals then I am not sure.

i didnt see that it was rebuilt, which means it is possible for valve seals to be faulty or piston rings could have too large of clearances or damage.

my first oil change at 1k. i changed the oil and i check the oil weekly cause im scared that i might not tighten the nut tight enough so oil might leak out. anyways i still noticed that it is still burning oil. i've added 3 quarts of oil so far and need about another 1500 miles to do the next oil change (the usual 3k oil change). i just check the oil again today and it is at where the bottom hole on the dipstick is at. i don't know if this helps but i use castrol 10w 30

just to reassure you, break-in period on a motor can be as long as 6000km (don't know in miles, roughly 4000) so just be patient and check your oil often.

Is this a stock or performance rebuild? If you made damage to the motor, it was probably before 500 miles. Was it tuned from the start?
