second intake runner in plenum open....BAD?
When I installed my intake I came accross the same problem. Searched and found that most people just cap off the vacume line and dont bother with the other stuff. I dont believe it would make you run lean but I may be wrong. Your pics arent coming up.
Bump, because I'd like to know if I'm doing the wrong thing also.

is there a way to upload pics directly from my compter versus HTML?? anyways my understanding that it is bad to have all that allowed air to flow into the combustion chambers causing a lean burn at low rpms.( that is having both sets open) doesnt that make sense.....driviing my car around..lemme tell you i think we are both wrong..because i have sucky low end power...real sucky!! CAN SOMEONE TELL ME WHAT WIRES hook to what and WHERE TO HOOK UP,,AND HOW TO HOOK UP!!! PLEASE!!!
Just take the vacuum hose from the black IAB box to the gold diaphragm and run it from the gold diaphragm to an unused nipple on the manifold and they will be controlled by vacuum...
but if you want to wire them up and have them be RPM acytivated by the ECU the you need to run the one wire from the IAB box to the PT6 ecu...and the other to a power source... if you don't have the corresponding ECU for the A6 motor then you are SOL and have to run it off of vac.

Alot more efficient for low end tq than having the butterflies open all the time...
I run it off of vacuum... and they open at about 60-70% throttle or at 3500-ish rpm's... whichever comes first...
as opposed to running them off the A6 ECU and having them open at 4000-4400ish...
Both ways are fairly comparable to each other...
I have run it off the ECU also... and I liked it better running them off of vacuum so I switched back...

No no no no...
You are bypassing the black IAB box...
Take the hose from the gold diaphragm on the manifold and hook it from that to the manifold... the black box is not involved at all...
