1999 civic EX keyless remote questions- PLEASE HELP
Ok i have a 99 4 door civic ex with factory keyless entry. lost both remotes long ago (actually my woman did- long story). ok i see them on ebay. i also dont have the factory manual. so can anyone out there tell me what FCC ID remote that I need? also how to program a replacement? i got a remote for a 99 civic on ebay, and tried 2 different ways to program the remote and both did not work. so either i have the wrong programming insturctions or the wrong remote. this was gonna be an christmas surprise for her. anf of course NOTHING is ever easy. any help would be appreciated. thanks mike mdellato@NOSPAMyahoo.com remove the nosspam
My 98 EX keyless entry has FCC ID: not sure that it matters now, so removing, not sure if it matters if anyone has my remote code though
No idea on the programming however.

I have a 97EX.. not sure if this will work for you, but it did for me.
Turn your ignition to the on position and wait for the radio to come on, then turn it off. Repeat 5 times, and hit a button on the remote. The end.
Like I said.. worked for me, but not sure if it's the same with yours.

I've got the remotes...actually, they're mine, but in my bro's (nuc79) hands right now-and he knows how to program them. I'll contact him and have him get ahold of ya...
for my 98 ex... i have FCC A269ZUA101
to program it, i turn the ignition to II... i wait until it stops beeping... then on the factory stereo... below the CD/TAPE button there is a thin line between the two buttons... i press and hold that line (for the entire time of this procedure)... after a few seconds, the door locks will cycle... then press the lock and unlock buttons on your remote (while still holding down that line)... the locks should cycle some more... after that just turn the ignition off and get out of the car and try it out

ugg. i think i have the wrong remote to begin with, the one i got from ebay has unlock-lock-panic-and trunk buttons. i have learned that the original had no trunk buttons. i have tried all of the ideas posted, but NONE have worked. so im sure i have the wrong remote. what i really need is someone who has the same car's fcc id # from the remote. 1999 honda civic EX 4 door, with no electric trunk button on the remote. i guess i will find another remote on Ebay, but not until i find the actual correct fcc id #. yes this turned out to be alot more involved than exected- thanks for all the info in advance- miked

ok the remote i have in my hand has unlock-lock-trunk-panic and the fcc id is E4EG8DJ. it was supposedly from a 99 honda civic, but from the looks of these other FCC id's i doubt it was. i will look on ebay for what they have to offer- mike
