Default Cracked a set of AEM pads..

After doing my DA front brake swap this wednesday i was cleaning up my stock dx brake system to prepare to sell and after removal of the AEM pads I notice there is a nice crack forming in the middle of the passenger side pad on both pads. I have not quite had these for 2 years and I only drive on the street and never really abuse my brakes. Just letting you all know my experience with them. Before noticing this crack they worked really well and put out no brake dust. I wonder if I could get some sort of refund from AEM? Anyone had experience with their customer service?

<---- Runs out and checks his AEM pads. But seriously, i had those small cracks on some no name pads before. Every now and then when i do brake jobs i notice them on others cars too. I dont know the brand of those though. Is this normal ? Im talking about small hairline cracks (dont appear to be deep, but depth is unknown), not chunks missing or delamination. You too are talking about the smaller ones right?

a crack is not going to affect the performance of a brake pad. if it falls to pieces in chunks, that would be another issue.

well If it affects performance or not i still dislike the fact that these so called "performance pads" have a crack forming down the middle of 2 pads. the next thing that could happen is that they do fall into peices and thats my life on the line. has anyone else had this issue with AEM or ceramic pads?

but wouldn't a crack be a sign of possible cracking/breaking?

depends on depth i think. If its just on the surface i would think no affect. If it goes all the way to the backing plate, u got a problem. This all my guess...

ok, well if it were a surface crack possibly lead to deeper cracking..? either way, sounds bad
