Best turbo kit for a 97 honda accord? and a little help needed from all Please......
Hi I am looking for a turbo kit for my 97 honda accord. I have a f22b2 engine in it and I don't want to remove my A/C. I prefer a bolt in turbo kit, but very good quality. If anyone knows where to buy one please let me know. Also I am think of getting a f22 engine from the junk yard and rebuilding it with new pistions and such to go with the turbo kit. The only reason I am thinking of buying th enew engine is becuase my engine has 100,000 miles on it and is stock. I want to make do this the right way, So if anyone has done this or could recomend some good internals that would be great. I am rying to produce like 250 whp. I DON'T WANT TO GO H22 BECUSE I DON'T WANT MANY PROBLEMS. So any input is good.
Also I want good compression but I believe with a turbo lower compression is better, I am no to sure but what or how do you change compression in a engine is it the pistons, becuase I will do that to better fit the turbo. So please all help is welcome and thanks in advance

okeydokey, first off, your capitalized statement above....if you dont want many problems dont mod your honda and especially dont boost your honda. now if you are willing to troubleshoot and deal with numerous problems, the majority of which you may not even understand at the moment (knowledge is power) then i say go for it. to make 250 you will not need pistons and rods, the only failsafe i might do would be the pistons. if i could do it again id just throw pistons in the mix and run 16-18lbs without the bat of an eye.
no you are obd2, you have fun when it comes to management, or save for aem ems or something.
as far as a good quality bolt on turbo kit, one for the f22b2 does not exist. you will spend just as much time if not just as much money going with a custom built kit. I cannot stress this enough, i know when you are just starting you never really want to deal with a full custom kit because it seems like a hassle. its not. your piping will fit, and you will be happy.
your stock b2 compression is fine. 8.8:1 is golden. if you want a lil more throttle response either bump it up and be careful with the boost or just get a lightweight flywheel and KEEP GOOD MAITENANCE *spelling*
i have a 95 accord coupe with ac and just under 250whp at the moment for what its worth, and my f22b2 has a lil over 101k now just over 100k when i boosted.

check into FMAX, they make a kit for the f-series engines. yes full-race makes super kits, but I don't know that they have made anything for the f-series engines(they will if you want them to, but $$$$) and their kits are designed for say 400-600whp.

Thnx man. Can anyone tell me if the H22A simply drops in where the F22 used to be? Does it work with the F22's tranny? Thanks alot

For this question... you really should just use the search function. In short, yes...

AHHH I'm gonna explode! use the search function! I get on this forum every single day and this question gets asked at least 4 times a week. go read the "how to use the search function" thread in Off topic, it will tell you how search to find what you want. I have searched the topic numerous times and found plenty of info.
I only have experience with my own custom setup. I did a lot of searching before, and still afterwards, so yes, you will have to search. Not just here, but other web sources, and even calling around to different shops. Everybody has their own opionion's and experiences, so choosing who/which to belive is something you have to do.
As far as parts goes, you need your basic components for the kit, turbo, manifold, charge pipes, etc., Look around, you will find great deals on stuff here on HT.
Happy building.
