Default BURN BABY BURN!

This was my friend's turbo gsr. Apparently something electrical caught on fire under the dash and spread into the engine bay....no idea how this happened.

we're gonna salvage as many parts as possible...yea the sunroof has been open. every wire in the entire car is toasted so he wasnt able to close the roof. hopefully the turbo and intake manifold are still ok, they look fine to me. I wonder if the fire could have damaged anything inside the motor. I didnt ask him how long it was on fire before the fire truck came...they had to smash the window in order to put the fire out inside the car.

Might as well get rid of that club....nobody is going to want to steal it now.

Sorry about your loss....Hopefully you can salvage some of the engine parts and put them into a new one. And hopefully insurance is willing to help.

no offence at all when saying this, but when cars get stolen, vandalized or broken into on this board its usually an insurance scam...

the same exact thing happened to a buddy of mine... it was an electrical fire underneath the steering column and his car burst into flames... it was a turbo integra also.

sorry to hear that it happened to your friend.. just as long as he got out okay

did your friend find out what under the steering column was the cause? It looks to me like the most concentrated area of heat inside the car was right in the center of the dashboard by the firewall.

No offense to your friend, but did he get his car painted at Maaco or something. Looks like a $200 paint job.

that's probably because most of the car was engulfed in flames for like 20 minutes. The car actually had a very nice paint job. Most things tend to lose their shine when you expose them to an open flame for a while.

Strange...
The driver's door faired better than the passenger door?? Should be the other way around.
Unless he left the door open after bailing out. Or maybe the steering wheel block some of the heat.
Maybe the clock overheated because he was driving too fast and started to warp time.
Man, that sucks though.
