would like to clean the inside of my rims because it looks grease, tar, road grime, brake dust. and i would like to know if it is safe for the rims like would it take off the color or anything. the rims are gunmetal.

i wouldn't recommend it, i clean car's part time.. try fantastic or basically any non abrasive cleaning fluid.. just not engine degreaser... it's all about the brush you use to scrub them can't be too rough or you'll scratch the finish on them, and can't be too soft or you won't cut through the grease/cooked on brake dust.. walmart has some good ones, and i just use glass cleaner on my rims and havent had any problems

 

just use soapy water and a sponge, dont be lazy. that **** could damage the rim's finish.
