That really sucks.
I had similar problems with my previous car, a '99 Saturn SL2. I was getting a lot of rattling, knocking, squeaking, and grinding from... well... from just about everywhere. Everything was covered by the warranty, so it didn't cost me anything, but it seemed like I was going back to the dealer every other week for something. I wasn't making any progress until some reps from the Spring Hill headquarters stopped by one day when I happened to be there. They did a lot of butt-kissing and guaranteed me that they wouldn't rest until all my problems had been fixed.
To make a long story short, any time one problem got fixed, another one popped up somewhere else. My solution was to finally ditch the Saturn and get myself an Acura.
But the moral of the story is this: go as high up the chain as you can. The higher up you go, the more attention you're going to get. The important people with big reputations to protect will take care of you if your local dealer won't. It's all about keeping up good PR and holding onto the repeat customers.
Good luck!
(Side Note: So far my Integra has been trouble-free, with the exception of a skipping CD player a while back. And the service I've gotten from Acura of Pleasanton has been top-notch! Just in case anyone in the area might be looking for a dealer.)
