hey guys...will a GSR brake MC + 2000 Si brake booster work fine with each other? anyone know off hand? thanks in advance.

 

I've got a 98 EX that I'm doing the swap in. I was going to make the SI booster to my EX master cylinder (bigger than the SI MC), but unfortunately, the way the 2 mate up together isnt compatible so I'm going to be using both the SI MC and booster. So, AFAIK, the SI booster isnt cross compatible with a larger MC, but I guess you'd just need to get more info, or even try it for yourself to see if they'll fit.

Integra MC is angled (roughly 45*)


Si BB is straight (or 0*/180*)


I believe, I dont remember exactly, that my jdm itr unit is straight (0*/180*) though

 

As mentioned, the Si MC flanges are at 9 o'clock and 3 o'clock. You'll need a master cylinder with that bolt pattern. Or, if you already have the MC, then you'll need to swap the booster.

Find out what the bolt pattern is on the GSR MC. I am not sure if they all are the same . . . I know earlier ones had the flanges at around 2 o'clock and 8 o'clock, but I'm not sure if they changed in later models.

I believe the ITR MCs have the flanges at 9 and 3 . . .

Why are you swapping the booster?

If your EX master cylinder is larger (I assume you have ABS?), then keep it and its booster.

You don't need a booster specifically from a GSR, just one with that bolt pattern. Other Integra models (except RS and Type-R) have the exact same brake system as the GSR.

You can also get one from a '92-95 Civic w/ABS.

I was told the bigger booster would help with maintaining a firm pedal feel, and was also told its adjustable as far as how the pedal feel is? If thats not the case, then my swap just became alot easier, because then all I'd be doing is swapping ebrake cables and the hubs

Can anyone confirm the effectiveness/purpose of the booster. The SI booster is 9" compared to what they list the EX booster as at 7-8". Although the MC's are SI: 13/16" compared to 15/16" = EX.

Not to jack the thread, but more info cant kill anyone

i'm all for MORE info...hehehe...i'll be doing a conversion on my EG soon...can't wait...i wonder if i should upgrade the front calipers too???
