yes they are the same. you also could reuse it but for 20.00 its best just to get a new one.

I know this is an old thread. I'm just adding information for those that come by it still looking for help.

I've had a similar issue with my gasket squishing out. One thing I can say for certain is that more Hondabond is not the answer. Ideally, one would not use it at all but it is necessary on the four corners because of the oil pump and main seal seams where they meet up to the block on the oil pan gasket mating surface. Were the mating surface not made up of three different components, there would be no need for Hondabond when installing a new oil pan gasket.

I found a solution to the squishy gasket issue. You can sometimes find them on eBay or you can get them from http://myhondahabit.com Their gasket is firm and will not squish out. Best of luck.

I will also add, never reuse a gasket, in an emergency maybe, but if you can replace it, do so, it applies to any gasket. 94

i can tell you exactly how to prevent squesh out. buy a $10 1/4" drive harbor freight torque wrench. set it to 100 inch pounds. tighten in sequence and 2 step the torque. go 50 the first pass and 100 on the final.

also make sure everything is extremely clean. if a white cloth picks up anything on the pan or block it's not clean enough. 1-2 cans of brake clean minimum

if you do this you won't leak
