Default itr manifold vs. skunk manifold

Is there a real big difference between the itr manifold and the skunk manifold? I wanna know which would be best for my ls/vtec (b16head)

The skunk manifold is based off th ITR manifold, there isn't much of a difference between the two....but
I'd make a guess and say go skunk, but I dont have anything to back that choice up.
I just think the ITR manifold was probably tuned for high rpm, high velocity, and not much else...I think the skunk manifold has a larger plenum and wider runners, and that's what manifold i'd choose.

I also hear the AEBS is a good manifold too? Anyone have any insight on these mainfolds?

You really won't see any difference between the Skunk and OE ITR, that being said I wouldn't waste my money on a Skunk for an ITR motor. I have used the AEBS manifold but haven't really played with it on the dyno. Personally I think it looks cheap but my guess is that it performs pretty much identical to the ITR and Skunk. Just my $0.02 tho

i dont even think the ITR manifold will bolt up to a b16head without some sort of modifcation bc the flanges are different.

Nope, an ITR head is just a factory ported B16. Both are PR3s made from the same cast. The GSR (P72) is the one that has the different bolt pattern.

To decide on which manifold to go with that's really up to you, I like the factory ITR casting better (simply looks cleaners) but the Skunk is still a nice piece. Whatever is cheaper maybe? haha

Nope it's not any different. The CTR uses the same PR3 cylinder head that the ITR does so it too will work both with the ITR, B16, and B17A. I've never actually compared a CTR side by side to an ITR IN manifold but my guess is they're pretty much the same if not the exact same.

I have been told by my new garage that the EK9 Intake Manifold is better flowing then the ITR and Skunk2 items. I need to confirm this 100% as,

Okay its a long story but basically got shafted by my previous tuner and ended up with a broken after market intake manifold and no EK9 one. So ended up having to purchase a Skunk2 as it was cheaper then the EK9 one and I was told they was the same.

Ever since fitting it though, my car doesn’t idle when it is first started, I have to hold the revs up to 1K for a few minutes as if I take my foot off the needle drops out and the engine cuts out. After a few minutes its fine to drive.

I spoke to my new tuner about this yesterday he said its probably the intake as the EK9 one is alot more free flowing then the Skunk2 or ITR one.

So I need to confirm this as if so will purchase an EK9 one again and sell my Skunk2.

The garage also suggested that the EK9 TB could have been switched while it was in with my old tuner.

Again I don't know for sure but it sounds like they're trying to feed you a bunch of ****. I mean come on, the CTR is a lot more "free flowing" than a Skunk or ITR, I doubt it. That would be just awesome if someone came on here and told me I'm a completely wrong ******* idiot...

With regards my starting problem, do you think it could be down to using Skunk2 Inlet over the stock CTR one??
