Problems after installing SPEC clutch.
Just Installed spec stage 2 clutch with Fidanza flywheel on 97 prelude. After many attempts to adjust the pedal I am still having problems going in to gear. Mostly the forward gears 1-3-5. Now I have tried bleeding, and adjusting with no success. It feels like the clutch in engaging late in the throw like 1inch off the floor. That tells me that it also isn't opening up enough to disengage. Has anyone had this problem?
Not to offend, but how did you bleed the clutch? Have you measured the slave cylinder's throw? If you can get the car into 2-4 smoothly but not 1-3-5, you're having other issues.
It was in neutral. The car drives right now. If I shift slow and let the RPMs drop I can shift it with out grinding. It really gets to me because I have done clutch replacements before and this is the first time I have had a problem like this.
I am a SPEC distributor. I have never had an issue such as you suggest. It sounds as if your pressure plate wasn't TQ'ed properly. Did this issue start immediately or were you able to drive the car at all? I would also check the mastercylinder and or slave cylinder. Typically the SPEC clutches have a very light pedal feel to them.
