replacing 92 Antenna Mast ??
Alright, I just received a new oem mast for my 92 accord. My old mast would not extend all the way (radio was left on in carwash). I installed the mast as directions showed, however it still left about 6in. poking out. I pulled the mast out again and noticed that the replacement (plastic toothed part) is about 1.5ft longer than the origional. However I only removed just those 6inches that were sticking out. So I go and reinstall it, and in goes down all the way.
And goes all the way back up. But then when I put it back down, it doesn't go down. I'm thinking that the (plastic toothed part) is not catching, so I gently push down and help it grab, which works. But after it's been fully entended, it won't go back down.
What can I do to fix this? Like I said the plastic toothed part is still atleast 1ft. longer than the origional.

I had this problem and wound up having to pull the antenna assembly apart and remove the broken stub which was causing problems. It's major surgery to disassemble the antenna drive assembly and you may have problems w/ reassembly.
It may be easier to simply buy a replacement power antenna system. Check ebay for a wide selection of choices. These replacements actually work better than the Honda unit. No grinding/crunching noise when the antenna reaches it's stop. You hear the motor run for a few seconds and it stops.
good luck
