Stripped my thread!
Hi today i took apart my suspension. My front shocks are KYB AGX and while i was trying to get the two nuts that lock the shaft of the shock to the tophat my polygrip slipped thus stripping some of the thread on the shaft. It's not too bad but i find it very hard to get those 2 nuts back onto the shaft. As you know those shocks do not have the hex shape on top of the shaft like OEM ones. Can this thread on the shaft be fixed using a lathe or something to rethread it? I was thinking of taking it to a machining shop.
Here is a pic. I sorta stripped the thread where the blue circle is.

Thank

yeh, you can prolly rethread it.
hold onto the top of the shock using a WRENCH from now on,
not some wierd polygrip thing..
isnt that for dentures anyways!??

Thanks. I have learnt my lesson Lucky i didnt do it to the other ones. The thread isnt hardout damaged, but just the nut feels tight when you try to screw it back down.
Will take it to the machine shop tomorow.
