Quick Bypass Valve Question
I just bought a AEM Intake from modacar.com. I also bought a bypass valve. I just got the intake today and are there 2 different CAI? A 1 and a 2 peice? Because I got a 1 peice. We'll the question is can I put the bypass valve on the 1 peice one?
In order to install the Bypass valve on a 1 piece AEM CAI, you will need to cut out a section of the pipe that runs perpendicular to the intake manifold. When I did mine on my old GSR, the bypass valve was mounted right where the 'AEM' sticker was - I just cut right through it. There should be instructions in the box with a little paper guide showing the amount you need to cut. I am assuming you have the older CAI, and not the V2 - if you have a V2, you can't use the bypass valve.
Also, I don't understand how you got a 2 piece and 1 piece pipe, are you sure they aren't parts of the same system? I don't think AEM sells any kits that are designed to work with the bypass without cutting - so I am not sure why you have so many pipes. Post a pic if you can.

yes there are 2. you'll have to cut your 1 piece in order for your bypass valve to come on. use search on here and maybe you can find something?

i think the 2 pieces are the older ones. they come with more hoses and clamps. pretty much the thing.

Oh ok, I think I have seen those, they just come with a little plastic sleeve to put them together. I misunderstood the first post, I thought you got a 1 piece pipe and then another with 2 pieces. If you only have the 1 piece pipe, then place it over the motor and figure out where you have space, and follow my instructions above. Usually the bypass will sit slight south of the shock tower in that open space, before the pipe bends and goes down under the bumper.
