Installing a head unit in my Civic and wanted to know if I can get it out again?
I am putting a Pioneer CD head unit in with one of the install kits. Will it be easy enough to remove in another month or so to add the sub connections? From reading it appears when you push it in place that locks it in. So how do you remove it then?

Just make sure you have the two little "keys" to get it back out. They are two pieces of metal with a 90 degree bend at the end. They slide in and pop the reciever from the metal shroud, lock in and pull out. Takes about 2 seconds.
yup, with a slider, no problem.. but once everything is finalized... might I suggest screwing it in? hehe, I did this, and it makes it impossible for someone to just take my headunit.. they would have to rip the dash apart, and take the center consol with them

eh, the point is, it would take them forever to do, and give me more time to beat them into submission, therefore saving my headunit, which is worth more than my dash im betting lol
yeah... your head unit is nothing compared to your dash. fcm: I was unfortunate since they took my head unit (but left the remote and cd wallet... O_o), as well as destroying my dash/cluster group and stealing my Razo shift ****.
new dashboards are much more expensive than a new headunit. My insurance didn't want to give me a new dash at first, because they cost $1800 (plus labor). A junkyard dash was like $350, but it was a different color and modified so after a month of getting wrong parts they put the new dash in.
I see it like this; once they're in, they're in and they're gonna take/maim whatever they want. if you have an alarm, there's less chance that they'll get in, and you'll get a discount on your insurance. If you have full coverage (pricey, but worth it IMO) you'll get your car at least close to what it was like before it was trashed :-/...
I'll be installing my next head unit with the help of a friend who works at Circuit City, and i'm going to secure it as best as possible. I will have a good alarm setup before I get any new audio equipment, plus I've got weapons now. he he he....
