What are your oppinons?
MY most serious concern is the rod bolts

 

I thought the only major changes occured for 04+. Haven't heard of many problems with rod bolts though, not since my00.

 

I believe the 02+ has a better ecu, rear glass window, tweeters, and I know theres more but I forgot.

I myself will be getting an 02+

 

But is it worth the 4-5k and the rarity of finding one at a good price compared to a 00 or 01

02+ is better man!!! all that was mentioned above is a great reason to get a new model....

the 00-01 rear plastic window is a PITA....

 

Well no doubt it is better...
But- considering i dont drive the car on bad days(winter or rain) the top will rarely be up. Also the speakers, ill be upgrading all around. The main problem i hear of is the revision of the rod bolts in 2002 because of all the thrown rods..

 

We already had this talk. If you don't buy an 02+, I will come smack you

the rod bolts are the same, you are confused with the oil squirter banjo bolts. There's a big difference. Don't let that be a deciding factor, as those bolts cost $40 and can be installed in '00-'01's

 

The price of the 02's are dropping fast.

Im already seeing them around here for 21K and lower with less then 30K miles. Even @ dealers Im seeing these prices.

Since its deep in winter the prices of the S will be @ a low point. Now is the time to pick up an 02

02 and up all the way!

 

02+ is the way to go. Less overall problems + rear glass window that DEFROSTS.
