Default 90 LS DA dead please i need all the help i can get....

i was on my way back from school and was just messing around with some other hondas and DSM's i goto school with ( all automotive college) and as i was getting off the highway i noticed the RPM's just dropping and i stomped the gas to see what the hell was going on and nothing. I down shifted into 3rd hoping this would get me enough speed to get off the off ramp but still the engine rotating speed was falling and fast. I finally stalled the car out in second gear for fear of totalling another Y1 by downshifting her into 1st. i then popped the hood to check all vitals... i had spark, fuel, not too sure about breathability but my filter does happen to sit about a foot or less above the snowy earth. every attempt of bring the beast back to life was a sudden failure the stater cranked but no pop bang roar... if anyone has just a guess im up for anything.....

probably something with the ignition. was the car bogging when it was dropping rpm? if you did suck up water, to check, take out your spark plugs and have somebody turn the car on and see if any water comes out from the spark plug holes. I dont think its water though, because the car would still run, just bog a lot. check your ignition.

this happened to me and it turned out to be the ignitor or the coil, i was in a bad mood and just replaced both. But it works good now so it must have been one of the. In helms i think says how to test which one.

But if you get spark then i have no clue....

Mine shut off on the freeway not to long ago as well. It would turn on when it wanted and then shut off long story short check you ignition switch and replace it if broken as thats wht I needed. Also check your timing belt so that it didn't snap on ya.
-hope this helps

Well it's really hard to say just by the info given. Usually you can hear something going on(or whats not in your case). Run a compression test check your timing belt.

i checked the battery and doesnt seem to be the trick, i got a new distributor recently <= so im guessing this is what decided to shittout... I also recently put a timing belt on her and i couldnt imagine she would take a **** like that( at least i hope to god its not the timing.. intereference engines dont take kindly to down shifting with broken timing belt)
