Default will this amp be able to pound two 10" subs?

I'm gonna get a pyramid 800W 4 channel amp from a friend, and 2 JL 10" subs from another friend. I was just wondering if they'll make good bass? I'm paying just 60CDN for the amp so I'm a bit worried if it'll not be able to pound the subs. Deck is 45W btw, with stock speakers.

wow, thats pretty cheap for that amp. as long as it'll pump out those watts you should be ok. you could also wire your amp bridged in series or parallel. just find out if your amp can hanldle the load. good luck.

I'll try to be nice, but likely your head unit has more juice than the Pyramid amp.

Basically.........Yes.

Pyramid = Purajunk.

Whatever you do, do not push it hard so that it gets hot. Pyramids get hot easily and then the solder joints start failing.

Default depends on the subs.

What model JL's are they? The recommended RMS rating is what you want to look at. If they're w0's, you might be alright - they can sound pretty good at like 100 watts a piece. I would hope the amp would do at least that much.

That 800W pryamid amp will be lucky if it puts out 100watts.

well i would have to say that pyramid is a step up from rockwood or kenford but not that great at all. if there cheap and it sounds good to you then i say go for it though. however its hard to answer your question (kinda vague) i will tell you that the best way to see how much power an amp actually puts out is the fuse rating. all amps are based on a 12v system so with that being equal in all amps the only way to make more power is more current. amp makers lie about ther power output because watts = sales. however if they lie and put too big a fuse on there amp they will catch on fire and prolly kill people so its abou tthe only way withough Actually bench checking the amp to see the RELATIVE power COMPARED to another amp
