Default noob question.. Clutch killed?

b18c in crx.

Cant get rubber in 2nd. Only way i can spin the tires is to dump the clutch at like 4-5k. In 4th and 5th if im crusing and i step on it, it slips for like 1000rpm then drops down and grabs.

Its adjusted. Engages about halfway on the pedal.

Umm.. I have been going to order a clutch for the longest time. Mines been slipping for awhile now. But i just have been putting it off and putting it off.

So is my clutch completely shot? I wonder how much longer it will live?

First standard car/car umm.. I think i killed it learning how to drive stick. Althought it was probably shot before it came in the car.

Thanks..

It sounds like the clutch is on its way out. With the type of driving that your performing, there is no question in my mind that your transmission has taken its fair share of abuse.

The clutch will live as long as you let it. Stop trying to "get rubber" (where ever you coined that phrase) and drive your car like it's supposed to be driven on public roads. Your car, and its components, will last much longer if you do so.
