H22A??? Why is this the best ACCORD SWAP????
i'm just wondering why most people with accords choose prelude motors for there accords??? Me personally am thinking about dropping a honda civic Si motor in it....160hp's but it's much lighter and converting it to a 2.0 with the crower stroker kit......prelude motors are pretty heavy...and so is my 94 accord ex.....i'm just trying to make it as light as possible....and the future....a carbon fiber hood....but why prelude motors, why not type r motors, or gsr motors????
flame # 1 - BWHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA he said a b16 motor ..ROFL god damn!!
b16 wont fit, because duh its too small ..and second of all it doesnt have enuff tourque to push around a shopping cart, so uh yeah accord is a heavy car but it needs a big motor to haul ***!! man just get the h22a and stop being weird

Yup, the reason the B16 won't work is the torque factor. If you want a 160 horsepower engine, I would recommend a H23. This is a 2.3L DOHC non-VTEC, and it has a **** load of torque, plus it is very good for turbo applications.
A B16 is great for a light hatch or coupe like a Civic, but in a car that weighs what an Accord does, it just won't cut it.
There is only 1 type of Accord that a B16 will fit and be beneficial in anyway. That chasis is the third generation, 1986-1989. The 3rd gen Accords and Civics share a lot of common things, unlike the 4th gen and up Accords. They have nothing in common with civics, except for that little H on the hood. The 3rd gen Accord is light enough to pull the swap off, however, it is not a direct bolt in. There is motor mount kits, as well as some cutting involved.
For the majority of us who have 4th gen and up Accords, the accord and prelude share the same basic chasis, and the H22/H23 engines are direct bolt in's. It's a very factory like swap, unlike a B16. In fact, the Accord in other markets besides the US, came with the H22 from the factory.

Maybe he didn't know the whole torque/weight factor, but if you were knowing of that, then you do deserve the assclown award, yes, you do.

i remember a few years ago someone said why not swap in a b18c in my accord i laughed in his face so hard i couldnt breathe, i think it would be along the same lines of swapping a b16 into a teg
the integra is like 400-500 lbs lighter than the Accord. A B16A swap in an Integra is VERY common, specially for 2 gen tegs
hahahahaha.......aight i see...now....but that i didn't say it would be a 1.6 liter....
i also talked about the stoker kit.......so it'd be a 2.0.......but i see what u guys are talking about prelude engines...i'll probably will go with it......

alright i just talked to my friend who has his own import shop........he talked about how h22's fit accords, but something about u gotta spend an extra 9 or 10 grand on the transmission.....and u gotta find someone else to put it in.........like u gotta get a customized transmission to stick in my accord, he said if i want a good engine drop a b18c1 gsr motor in my accord......????? What is this about spending more on the transmission to make it fit and handle the power i'm gonna put in it!!????????
LMAO!!!, dont you mean ounce inches of torque?
