Default Ran into some problems driving home after installing new fuel filter

Ok, so I drove to 1320online from my house which took about an hour and half. Drove there fine, no engine check light, no low pressure oil light blinking. I bring the car in there, they look at it, blah blah blah and can't do much cause I was hoping they would be able to tune it. So all I say is just install a new fuel filter and they do.

Is it normal for the gas to be squirting all over the place when you are losening it? I saw that happened and got kinda ruined the gas squirting all over the engine. Well, after the dude got done installing it, I pay for it and drive home.

I'm about half way home and just got through the toll booth to pick up a ticket. I shift into 3rd and decide to floor it. It gets to about 5.5K and then all of a sudden my engine check light comes on. I'm like wtf is up with this, so I just keep driving normally. Then all of a sudden my oil light is blinking and i get pretty worried. But it was like an on and off thing. I get closer to home and it starts blinking again over and over. I turn off the car, and turn it back on and the engine check light goes off and the red oil light goes off.

Half hour later, I drive it again and the oil light is starts to blink again over and over. Can anybody think of what is wrong?

did you check your oil? take it back to them and have them look at it since they were the last ones who touched your car.

like it has been said before, check your oil level and pull the code. Just wondering though, why do you think a fuel filter would have anything to do with you oil? And yes, it is normal for fuel to squirt from the fitting when you loosen it from your filter, the whole fuel system is pressurized.

Just a guess, but sometimes a bad battery connection can cause power loss, CELs, and the oil pressure light to trip.......It has happened several times on my wife's car due to a shitty connector to the battery on the ground cable....I only suggest this because 'anytime' the fuel system is worked on, it is a step in 'every' manual to disconnect the battery....Cross your fingers and hope that in this case it wasn't hooked back up properly or one of your connectors is going bad........If not check codes then go from there....

Yes, this could be a possibility. The shop might have disconnected your battery terminals while working on the fuel filter. Check your connections. It would also be a good idea to check your oil level and the CEL code. It's very easy to do. Keep us posted.

Ok, I just checked the oil level and its pretty damn low and I just changed the oil like 2-3 weeks ago. Is there a reason for it to consume so much oil? I guess highway driven isn't good at all huh.

how low was your oil level, is there smoke coming out of your exhaust? do a compression test.

and like someone posted earlier: yes gas squirts out when changing a fuel filter and you are supposed to disconnect the battery terminal when doing this so the pump doesn't accidentally kick on or have something short and spark while you have exposed fuel lines. just did mine last week and put on the fuel gauge that 1320 sells.

make sure that your car is level. I have checked my oil before on a very slight incline and it read empty.

you oil is def. getting burned somewhere... find out how first. As for the gas squirting out, I haven't done it in a while but I think I pull the fuel pump fuse while the car is idling and let the system run as dry as possible before opening up the fuel lines for changing filter or injectors. You still spill a little fuel when that happens, but it shouldn't really squirt out.
