Default setting timing??plz help

hey im just doing the timing in my civic
running DOHC ZC motor i got the manual and evrything but
when you line up the pointer with the white dots there are 4 dots like in the pic where do i line the pointer to which side?
this view is when you are looking towards the pully and the front of the car is on the left hand side.

From your diagram,the marks to the left of the pointer should be the red mark and the marks to the right should be white.The pointer should be at the white mark when the engine is at TDC.Usually youll want to put the pointer on the red mark(16 degrees btdc),than when the gears are lined up and the belt is on,turn the crank until the white mark lines up with the pointer to take out the slack in the belt.Check that the cam gears are still lined up,tighten the tensioner bolt and rotate the crank a few times than bring back to tdc to check that the timing is still correct and that belt slack is correct.

all the marks are white no red ones at all ... just the four white ones like in pic

I havent done a sohc in a few months so they're probably different.There should be the three marks to the left.The middle of those three is 16 degrees btdc.The one on the right will be tdc.
