Default Swap Finished, but one problem

I just finished swapping a b16 into my 95 hatch.

Everything is working good and the engine runs great, except I'm having trouble with the tranny.

At first it drove fine for about 2 minutes, and then it started getting hard to put in gear. Started grinding and stuff. I figured that I just didn't bleed the clutch enough so we bled it more, still same problem, but it was intermittent. sometimes it'd go into gear perfect, and other times it wouldn't ever come close.

I drove it down to get gas, and on my way back I floored it in first to see what she was made of, and it popped out of gear in first and now the clutch won't engage.
It's permantently disengaged.

I can have it in gear with the car running with the clutch out and it doesn't do a thing. Any gear, 1 through 5. It just idles like it was in neutral

My guess is the pressure plate, but I was wondering if it can be anything else.
Anything you guys have heard of that would cause these symptoms?

Edit: I have been thinking more about this and I'm starting to think that it might be the throw out bearing. Just because the way it popped out. Do throw out bearings pop off ever or pop out? Just trying to figure this out.

I ordered a new Action clutch, that will be going in this next week hopefully, but I want to verify that it's the clutch that is fawked, and that my tranny is gonna be alright.

thanks guys

well if you look at the big picture, you cant get the clutch to disengage. can u push the clutch in? if you can and its not doing anything, its either a broken tob,the pressure plate, or possibly a snapped input shaft. if you cant push the clutch, the tob might be frozen to the input shaft. also, can you shift the car through the gears with it running and nothing happens? hope i can be of some help

yes, I can push the clutch in, and it has somewhat ok pedal pressure, kind of weak though.

If it was a snapped input shaft would it make noise? My car is making absolutely no odd noises.

I can surely have the car running, and throw it through all the gears just as if it was turned off. I can put it in first and let out the clutch and nothing happens. it doesn't even affect the idle at all. just sits there, as if nothing is happening.

Sounds like you may have to pull your trans dude. when i did my first swap, the clutch it came with was completly shot. And i mean SHOT. But if i put it into gear and started the car with the clutch out, it would move. Check the shift fork behind the boot at the front of the transmission.. when you push the clutch in, does it move? Good luck man.

The shift fork is moving about a 1 to 1.5 inches when I press in the clutch.
That means the clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder are functioning properly correct?

That limits it to a clutch, throw out bearing, or something in the tranny I think... so what I'm trying to find out is if these symptoms have ever been experienced by anyone and what their solution was.

Also, can a throw out bearing just stop working?

OK, just figured out the problem, but I have new questions.

The passenger side axle had come out and therefore the tranny was spinning, but nothing is moving the car.

I tried to push the axle back in, but it just won't reach. it's almost an inch too short.

Is there another axle that I could've gotten that is too short?

Maybe HMO sent me the wrong one.

are first gen axles shorter?

So here is a quick low down. The throw out bearing is what contacts the teeth of the pressure plate. If it was not functioning, or functioning improperly, one of a few things would be happening, either a loud *** noise, or everytime you tried to put it in gear, you would grind them. So that leaves you with the clutch or the tranny itself. Either way it is coming off. So chop to it.
