I just got an eg hatch with a 99 B18B1 and i wanted to go ls/vtec with it. So im wondering what are the essentials when doing this conversion and approx. cost of the parts.
I wanted to use a GSR head but they can be $$$ and hard to find up here in canada so im thinking 2nd gen B16? So far i have a short list and im looking for input on parts to add etc.
-B16 or GSR head
- GE Vtec conversion kit
-P28 ECU?
-New head gasket
I am not sure what else is required so if you could give me some info it would be appreciated.

the head gasket comes with the GE conversion kit.
other than that i think you have listed all the parts. just have to wire in vtec if it isn't already

From what im gathering the list would look like this
-B16 or GSR head
- GE Vtec conversion kit
-P28 ECU?
-New head gasket
-vtec oil pump, water pump
-ARP Head studs would be a good investment
Anyone list other stuff for me?

From: Good luck to this industry, you're gonna need it.
Not to be rude, but search for lsvtec. Honestly, it's how I got all my info for my build. Would definitely check that out...there are SO many threads on this it's unreal. I assure you you will learn more than you know right now. I know my response doesn't answer your question but it will help get our answers.

I have searched a bunch for ls/vtec and havent come up with alot of info as far as all the parts needed.
I thought with the GE kit you dont need to machine the block or are you just saying it would be a good idea?
What I am looking to do is build a mild street motor and then next year im gonna be putting together a turbo setup. I was thinking with a basis ls/vtec i would get more hp out of the engine and i would be happy until i got the whole turbo setup together.
What does a basic LS/vtec(b16 head) usually put down as far as whp/tq?

with the ge kit you don't have to machine anythign but you do have to tap your head for the plug but other than that it's simple
