88 crx. 90-91 doors but not seatbelts possible?
I have an 88 crx si with the pillar mounted seatbelts. Can I swap the doors from 90-91? But I want to retain the pillar seatbelts. Can I swap the door panels and remove the seatbelt assembly from the door?
i dont see why not, but unless ur 88 doors are gone, why would u want 90-91??? 88's are lighter in general.

yes you can have a late 89-91 crx door (seat belt mounted) on a 88 crx...but 1st..why would you want to do auch a thing like that?
a few reason and difference between the 2 doors..the late89-91 door are alot heaver then the 88's one.
and even if you want that door on your 88's and taken out the seat belt..there wil be opening slot on the panel and upper door trim!
i can understand if you want to have the late 89-91 door on your 88 for the seat blet look, but jsut to have it on..it really no use..
now in order for you to retain the late 89-91 door on your 88's, you'll have to modify the door jam portion in order for that door to open and close or even stay on the car.
so i have this kinda point something out to you about this modification you intent to do.
i have an 89 CRX Si and it has a door mounted seat belt and i would perfer to have the pillar style instead, cause that shyt is hella heavy!

First of all, there is a very good reason for switching to 90-91 doors.
The same reason HONDA DID IT!!!!! The reason they did it is for SAFETY. Thus, my reasoning for wanting the doors with impact beams built in.
anywho, it only seems nyhustla2k has actually done/seen this, but has anyone else who posted actually done/seen this?
and what do you mean by door sash is different? how does that effect swapping doors.

My buddy went the opposite way he put 88 doors on a 91. I'd much rather have the belts on the pillar and not in the door. I sure that putting selt belt doors on a 88 can be done.
