There is no reason to get a dual exhaust, it will just add weight

Why stop at 2?...Why not get 4?....I say do it!.....And have them angled towards each other rather than apart....

I don't think he's talking about dual-tip systems, since the stock muffler is dual tip

I agree, a dual exhuast system in the si would result in a decrease in hp on the whole power band. You need back presure for the low and mid range torque.

you have 4 cylinders, and only 1 header. Do not get a dual exhaust, it will sound like **** and will not yield good performance, maybe even less than stock. Get a good single exhaust system.

That may be true for peak power, but what did it look like under that? If it gives 5-10 ft-lbs in the midband that would be great.

You have alot to learn grasshopper Unfortunatley, function follows form on the design of the sunfire and many other cars with inline motors.

I'm pretty sure both of those cars breath better than the K20A3.

As for what to get I recommend a nice 2.25 midpipe without a resonator and MAYBE a borla or magnaflow muffler.

I did the 2.25 and kept the stock muffler. I still have it to this day.
