Rear Motor Mount
Has Anyone had their rear motor mount on a 96 automatice tranny go bad or have a really bad vibration when ideling. I think that mine has gone bad and not sure what to do or how to check . what tools might i need to make a proper diagnosis. The mount seems to move a good amout i can hear something hitting or the mount moving a great deal not sure but what do i check?
I had a very rough idle (still do unfortunately) but I took it into the dealer and they said it was my motor mount--it broke. I have a 97 though. F22B2. It fixed the bad idle for a while, so maybe I have another one or more broken?
i think u got the same problem i had...
not sure but maybe the advice other people gave me could be somewhat of a help to you.
Mine still shakes while idling...

Auto tranny Accord for some range of years have a vacuum-operated rear engine mount. It's supposed to get real soft when idling in gear, then harden up when you drive off. You need a MityVac, multi-meter, & a couple jumper wires to really troubleshoot it. Plus a Helm manual for the procedure.
For yuks, you can find the vacuum hose that goes down along the firewall, to the mount itself. Take it off the solenoid valve, then use the MityVac to apply & release the vacuum. Do this while someone's holding the brakes, car idling, in gear. It's supposed to make a big difference in how much vibration you feel.
If that part's OK, then you'll need a manual for whether the solenoid valve is normally open or normally closed or whatever...
