2004 accord starting problem
Intermittently, my 2004 v6 accord cranks too long before it starts. The dealership hasn't been able to reproduce the problem so they're not doing anything about it. That's the problem, I can't find a pattern to when it happens because it can happen in the morning, at night, in normal, hot, or cold weather. A friend of a friend told said that the same thing happened to his 2004 accord, and the dealership just replaced his starter. I told that to the dealership and they didn't do anything about it. They called American Honda, who just shrugged their shoulder at them and said that they hadn't heard of the problem. I want the warranty to cover this so I need a way to reproduce the problem, so if anyone has any ideas please let me know. thanks.
I looked in the manual for my car and it said the car might be harder to start in cold weather or higher altitudes. Don't know if either of those apply to you. Good luck.

thats bullshiettt. you should call HOnda america yourself....... but you should try this... turn the key to II and wait til the green key light stops blinking... then try to start it.. also if you have too much keys on your keychain it can interfere with the immobilizer chip.....
i have a 2004 ex v6 and i have noticed the same problem.. never had an accord... had a civic b4.. thought this might be normal but i gues after hearing your guys problem, it really is something to look into... keep posting any updates if anyone has been successful in gettting the dealership to do something about it... peace...
I actually did call Honda America myself just to see if the dealership was lying about even having called them. But they hadn't heard of the problem before, supposedly. I guess if all the people that do have the problem start calling they might try to do something about it. If anyone does try to call them or has already called them let me know if they say they never heard of that problem before, because that means they're obviously lying. I'm trying to now use the key by itself without the keychains, or other keys attached to my key ring, maybe that'll do the trick. Another dealership I had called had suggested that it might be the attached keys as you said. I'll also try turning the key to II and wait till the green starts. I'm hoping it's just the keys because I think it's ridiculous if I have to turn the key to II every single time just to make sure it starts right away.
we have had a few cases of this problem at the honda dealership i work for and hond has info on this problem in fact ive had to call tech line on this problem. and they told us that a service bulltin is on the way. but have you had the ign switch recall done on the car? its for a diff type of problem but still.

My wife has an 03 EX 4cyl and it seems to crank a little longer than I think it should. We've never had any issue with it not wanting to start but just cranks a long time before it starts up. My 98 you barely have to turn the key and it's running but not her's. Probably takes 1-2 seconds for it to fire up. May not sound like a long time but it is.
