Default gsr all motor set up questions?

whast up H-T. i am a noob and i got a 99 gsr that put down 170whp, on ctr pistons and the rest was a stock block, w/ skunk2 head parts w/ stcok cams. i knwo get cams which i did waiting for install. my question to you guys is w/ out any outragous machine shop bills how can i make more power for reasonable money.
we pumped the motor after teh dyno and it pumped as follows 235-230-235-215... yeah 215 on #4 thast low i am think rings!? i know if i get in teh bottom end it does make much sense to go back in w/ stock parts. so if anyone could make suggestions on rods/pistons that would be great. i already got arp rod bolts, headgasket bolts new waiting for my bottom end decisions. thanks guys

You should do a leak down test first. If it turns out that your rings a gone then change if not maybe valve seals. The compression seems low for Ctr pistons. I get 240 across the boad with my stock GSR 1995.

Suggestion: .20 pistons @ 12.0:1
Crower Rods
Toda Type C's Cams
Skunk2 Manifold
65mm Throttle Body
Get Hondata or some type of managment
If assembled properly, this should put down over 200 with good torque. Good luck.

you might want to check the all motor forum. They have a great wealth of knowledge and information in their archives.

Any good performance shop should be able to do the leak down test. The info you get from the leak down test will let you know if the problem is with the bottom end or head. if the head is the problem, check if the new valves were seated properly with new valve seals.
