well i was browsing Quaife's website and stumbled across these, new quick ratio rack and pinion gears for EFs

"The quick ratio rack and pinion gear set is perhaps the most underrated performance part around. The Quaife rack and pinion gears simply replace the existing pieces inside your stock steering rack housing. More rapid steering response is felt with an average of 25 percent reduction in ratio, resulting in fewer turns lock-to-lock. This translates into much quicker steering and turn in at the cost of a slight increase in effort. A must for autocross, drifting, and track work. Designed to fit manual steering racks only. Not for power steering."
heres the link, they retail for $239

Been meaning to make a post on something like this too, was a whole different steering column for 88-91 civic/crx had a 13.1 ratio instead of the stock 15. Was like 500 bucks though, can't remember where I saw that. Much cheeper from Quaife...I'll have to pick one of those up.

They list the 88-91 new parts as being 2.8:1 and the 92-95 at 3.25. Boy, I hope thats right, though I know they (Quaife) originally told me the opposite.

And the 88-91 EF stock is 3.88:1 for the manual rack. I also think you might be thinking of the power racks for the 92-95 when you say 3.6 stock, as I'm pretty sure the manual one is 3.88-4.1:1.
