Allowed shifter bushing material in Solo II stock class?
I assume it's not allowed, but would using the Energy Suspension polyurethane shifter bushings be legal in Solo II stock?
I'm thinking about getting into auto-x with my CRX Si next year, but I don't want to do anything that will bump me out of stock class before that. I know this is little and nitpicky (especially for a novice) but I'd like to keep it within the rules, just in case.
Here's my car, by the way (62k miles)

Welcome to the board! I presume you will be running STS2?
The only piece of info I could find about shift linkages:

G-Stock for now. The CRX is my newly purchased daily driver, and I don't expect to be winning in my first year. I figure if I get hooked, I'll put together a car just for racing.
Has to be a factory Honda replacement part, or equivalent. Meaning it has to be identical to the factory part in material, weight and dimensions if it's not genuine Honda.
Don't worry about it too much, just don't go throwing a short shift kit in it and expect nobody to care.

Nice car! It's looks pretty darn stock. Keep it that way. Best of luck running in GS. You should have alot of fun. Don't let the mod bug bite. If it does bite you get they stickiest tires you can get on a spare set of wheels before anything else.
Get in touch with racerjon if you want some good advice on running a crx si in GS.

Like others have said, it's got to be a Honda part or equivalent.
As for the need to mod the car ... there are plenty of things to be done in stock class to keep you busy for a while. Especially on an older car like the CRX - which probably could use a good bit of maintenance (all that once-every-10-years stuff like ball joints, toe rods, brake calipers, etc).

Matt P,
Forgive me if we have met, and if we have refresh my memory, I am also in Columbia SC, and running a G-Stock CRX. (1985 Si, but daily driver is a 1990 Si) If you need any help e-mail me at jon@seat-time.com its good to have another CRX here locally, even if i am bolting the class.
On the bushings: They will make very little if any difference, and i doubt they would even help your time in any measurable way. I would almost be willing to call it a comfort and convience mod. But.. thats not up to me on a national level, so as they said its not allowed.
I would not protest anyone for that. And, I dont think anyone else running G-Stock locally with you would either.. The guys in G-Stock here in SC are pretty laid back and we pretty much just like competing. Other regions.. I cant speak for. I have seen some BS local protests over stuff like that.
On to the good stuff.. You will be planning on coming out to Florence Civic Centeron the 11th of December right? You can see some info at http://www.scr-scca.com Or you can just ask me.

Hi Jon,
Nope, I don't believe we've met. I used to have a 90 Civic Si that I was planning to use, but it was totaled back in January after I was in an accident. Work, school & driving a Toyota pickup got in the way of giving auto-x a try.
I had figured that the season was over, but I checked the schedule on the website yesterday and saw that Dec. 11th date. My last exam is the 10th, so I think I'll be able to make it. About how long does it take to get to the Florence Civic Center?

It photographs better than it is, and has a few cosmetic issues, but it's in pretty nice shape.

My last exam is the 10th as well, so i will be looking forward to the stress relief on Saturday. Florence is a little more than an hour from Columbia, and the site is right off the exit at the end of I-20.
