can i ask a couple noob questions?
whats up honda doods? ok so i replaced my head gasket and put the head back on..now i need to reinstall the cams and replace the timing belt..my questions are..to put the cams back in is that a two person job and how hard is it to do or what should be known? whats a good assembly lube? last question is what would the cost be on average to take it to a shop and have them put it back together? thanks doods
if u've already gotten that far then just finish it up yourself. its a 1 person job but it can't hurt to have a friend or so looking over your shoulder to see if you're doing it right. Also do you have some sort of service manual. Even if its just a haynes or chiltons, those have enough info to help you get everything put back together and replace what you need.
also, when you get to lining up your cam sprockets/gears if, IF you use a pin or small screwdriver to lock the cams in place, just remember to take them out before you attempt to turn the crank over. LOL, don't ask. And if anyone else knows what im talking about its bout the dumbest thing you can do. If you don't know what im talking bout then just ignore what i just said.
