cold or warm days... even on rainy days... when my car has not been driven for 4 or more hours and start again my idle is at 2000RPM. when i rev it up and let it sit for awhile it goes down to 1000RPM and down to 500RPM, but this is after like 15mins.

If i do not do this and drive... and sit on a red light... my RPM is at 1000RPM. i don't know if this is right or wrong, but when i start the car my idle seems to be too high...

what might be the problem? i've checked the throttle cable ... it looks fine...

 

how long has it been doing this and what has been done about it so far?

im thinking that maybe the idle has been slowly creaping up and to counter that the idle screw has been tightened, when the fitv shouldve just been tightened.

OR

your tb and im might just need a good cleaning.

my car does that 2.. i wouldn't be too worried about it..as long as it drives good

 

no 500 rpm is bad and 2000rpm is the limit for warming up if its a d series
