Poping noise when i open my door??? Pics inside
well when i open my door i hear a poping noise and it gets on my nerves here is a pic from where its coming from. so what do i need to do to fix this a friend of mine his CRX Si did the same thing. so if any one could help me out with this it would be great.
My buddy works at a body shop and he said that is common problems on our EF's. You have to replace the bracket, thats all.
mine does that too, i am eventually gonna get around to welding that lil thing to the sheet metal and see if it stops.
The hatchback in the family has the same problem, but it actually is breaking off from the body, I need to reweld it and it will be fixed.

Yours don't look broke yet, the one on my hatch looks to be rewelded and welded again because it cracked part of the metal.
People post on this ever so often. Do a search. The problem is the thing that comes out of the finder area that the door stop/holder attaches to. I breaks off inside an inclosed area that you cant get too (at least I have done searches and there is no solution that is easy). I think that when the car was assembled, that thing was spot welded to the frame. You an see the area to the right of the tab itself that looks kind of like a V. So it doesn't bolt on, it was attached and then spot welded. Down inside that area it breaks off in one or two places and stays attached enough to spring-pop everytime you open the door. It bangs back against one side of the slot. Every solution I have heard was done by some welding genious with no detailed procedures. Guy would say 'friend is a master welder, I showed it to him and he fixed it in 10 minutes'.
If someone has a real fix for this I would love to know. Please no crazy glue or other lame solutions.
IS VERY COMMON. Like having your teeth fall out if you just live long enough...

None of mine have this but its common and once it happens there is no "permenent" fix you just need to reweld everytime.
I suppose if you really wanted you could cut that section out and replace it with a section off a other car if you really wanted to be picky.

i have the same problem on my crx..it just the hinge bracket inside the frame is broken off..so everytime you open the door it would make that poping noise and such..what i did to fix that problem was have the door open all the way out and reweld that metal plate around the hinge from the inside(back) and front and it done deal. depending on how your welding is..you might need to grind down the welding after it done so you wouldn't have that messy look.
