Default how many integra's with b16 tranny??

hi, i just really wanted to know how many gsr owners have a b16 tranny. i've been searching but IMO there's not enough information. so i just really want some opinions and feedbacks on the b16 tranny.
-how does it feel
-how bad did it hurt your gas millege(if it does?????)
-1/4 times
-etc.

i'm asking because my buddy is will do a straight trade. his b16 tranny for my gsr.
give some info and something to really think about.

I dont have a b16 tranny, however, i do have a gsr tranny on my LS. And to answer some questions:
It feels great. The acceleration is wonderful!
Gas mileage is actually about normal. I average about 275-300 miles before the gas light even turns up. I did a little test, and i think i got about 28.8 mpg. Mind you, this is revving at 4.1k at 5th gear going 80mph. You would think this high revving would suck up gas like no other, but it really isnt that bad. I think throttle position has more of an effect on gas, rather than rpm.
1/4 times are also another wonderful thing. On a pretty much basic modded LS, i ran a 15.1@91 mph with the gsr tranny. I think with better launching, i can get into the high 14's. High 14's on i/h/e LS is pretty damn respectable if you ask me.

According to your sn, DB8 would mean you have a 4 door gsr right? I think a b16 tranny would do wonders on your car. Shorter gears are one of the best modifications you can do!

i have a b16 tranny on the b18c (gsr) in my civic...... close enough?

as stated, switching to shorter gears is a great thing. your gas mileage will be a little worse if you keep travelling at the same speeds as with the gsr tranny.... but who cares? i went from high 13's to mid 13's by just changing the tranny....

that's pretty impressive with just a b16 tranny. anybody else has a say in this. also how hard is it to swap in an ls 5th gear.

well i reacently found that if your boosting you want a gsr tranny becuase the gears are longer...but if not the b16 tranny is super tight to get the speed you want... gsr with gsr tranny would lose to a gsr with a b16 tranny the gears are just quicker...so i hear

a b16 tranny on an LS motor is awesome.. the hp and torque raps up more quickly.. that is youre goin all motor.. but its feel real good. gas mileage is not all that bad.. unless you get on it everyday.. but i've had a LS with GSR tranny, GSR stock header, clutch and few other bolt ons.. i've hit 14.7-14.8 in a 93 civic EX coupe.

if you are staying all motor, b16 tranny is the minimum. next to that would be itr (lsd) and jdm itr 4.785 f.d. but, if you do a good amount of highway driving, the b16 & itr trannies will drive you mad, unless, your exhaust is quiet. the combonation of high revs and noise is enough to bother most people. but, in the end acceleration is everything,so, i'm swapping my gsr tranny for an SiR (usdm 99+ Si) this weekend. i wouldn't mind using a gsr 5th with the SiR tranny though...........

80 mph is about 4500 on an si tranny.
i have a jdm ys1 (almost the same as the si) on my lsvtec, now in the crx. i LOVE it!! i can't stand the ls tranny at all. it just sucks so hardcore. imo, the best setup would be a b16/ type r tranny with a gsr 5th. the ls 5th will bog down too much when you shift to 5th in a b16 tranny

i love my b16 tranny...there was a day and night difference in acceration...gas mileage i get about 230-250 to tank depends on how i drve...the highway drving though can be kinda annoying...going 80mph im about at 5g...thats wen my gas goes down like water.....other than that i love it

I had a type R tranny on my Gsr before. It has a good 1 & 2 but the tranny did not allow for any momentum to be built up. I would finish gears too quickly. In other words, after changing gears (stock ecu) the rpm's would drop to 7000 rpm's. If you like top end runs this tranny ends too quickly. Gas milage is definetely lowered . If you get this tranny I would recommend getting a ecu with a higher rpm limit.

For 1/4 runs it is worth it.

another thought i wanted to add to your question is:

for states that require annual inspections (like gay *** Virginia) lol, will swapping a tranny other than OEM spec cause it to fail????? I'd like to hear an answer on that...
thanks

i got a b16 tranny on my 94ls wit a b20 in it, u couldnt ask 4 faster accelaration. I also have a act pro light flywheel and exedy clutch. Top speed is suky, i top out at 125mph, but i like autox so that dosn't really bother me. I give teh same advise as the ppl above, b16=all motor, gsr=boost, so make sure u know what u want 2 do b 4 u trade.

well im not the orig creator of this post, but i mentioned along the way that i was considering a gsr tranny swap into my ls as well. this guy was asking bout the b16 tranny swap.

Im more interested in saving some of my gas on the hwy then to swap a b16 into her..lol i would however like to bag my shitty ls tranny and upgrade to closr gearing like the usdm gsr tranny. ive noticed from what some have said, that gas efficiency drops a bit, but if it's minimal, it won't bother me. my car is setup for the street.. no autox intended, but id like to get as much acceleration out of my setup as possible w/o FI or vtec swap. So with that said, im def interested in a gsr tranny. i was searching around to what others' have said about the tranny swap in their ls. sounds like most say the acceleration is def better. i'd still like to know whether or not this tranny swap mod has any sort of impact on failing inspection? In VA we have to get inspections done annually...******* bastards! but def planning on keeping my car NA with the LS block in her. just need and want better acceleration. any more info for me bro??

according to my little excel spreadsheet 80mph in 5th gear is actually just under 4400 rpms

i've got a b16 tranny on my LS... its nice. better than the ls for sure. Driving on the highway isnt too cool tho... it gets annoying with the revs being loud with an aftermarket exhaust. I plan on going turbo and the tranny is staying. IM me if u want more info

if u gonna boost the ls motor, i do not suggest a b16 tranny, but a gsr instead, the b16 would b 2 short 4 boost wit the ls redline. u top out at 125, trust me.
