Default Shorten shocks?

Hi,

My front springs are not held captive (trapped in) the spring perch due to the spring extended length being shorter than the shock extended length.

The shocks in are KYB "super special - for street" which i believe are only available in Japan new. They are 4 way damper adjustable and are identical to KYB AGX but different colour. The shock needs to be shortened around 0.75" to trap my springs in. My question is: is it possible to shorten these particular shocks?
By shortening i mean cutting a section of the top of the shock off, reweld and rethread.

Thanks

my springs were like that on my accord. it never posed/caused any problems. when the weight of the car is the spring, it's seated properly.
