Default Booster air leak - Brake Gurus please help

87 Accord EFI,

Changed a burst front hose and when I went to bleed the system I get no pressure whatsoever (the pedal does not get hard). When the pedal is pumped vigorously it just blows air through the bottom where the M/C meets the booster.

The M/C was changed recently and the two bolts are tight. The car is undriveable and I need some ideas. Oh, and the car does the funky idle thing from time to time (up to 700 and down to almost zero).

TIA,
Ziggy

No. The level in the reservoir stays full.

Also, when bleeding the brakes one can see the pads kinda squeezing the disk from the pressure but in my case there is no pressure and no squeezing.

Take care,

sounds like you got a clog somwhere in the line from the resivor to the caliper. somewhere inline... did you pinch off anything while u were doin the brakes? did you make any bends to the line?? trace your hard brake line from the cailpers back to the resivor, look for any pinches or god forbid holes.... is it consistant with both sides?? if so then its probably not your lines, cuz it wouldnt be likely that they would both crap out on u at the same time... then id say its gotta be sumthin to do with the delevery system... sry dunno much about that half of it, hope this helped tho...

Just checked all lines look good and there's definitely no fluid leaks anywhere.

I just don't get it. Why is air hissing out between the MC and booster when I pump the pedal? Is this normal or is the seal between the MC and booster suppose to be air tight? If so I don't remember seeing a gasket there.

Take care,
Ziggy
