Default General Motors Pride...

Before you read the title and get angry just hear me out please...

Let me tell you all a little about myself. My name is Kirk. I'm 21 years old and I live in Gettysburg, PA. I guess you could say its kind of a hick town. My dad worked for and retired from General Motors after 30 years. As you can guess we own all GM products. My parents have a Buick Centry and a Chevy Cavalier. My brother and sister have an Oldsmobile Delta 88 and another Cavalier. I personally own two cars , an 88 Pontiac Bonneville and a 98 Firebird. My family owning an import was never an option nor concern. Not that we thought they were bad, my family is just loyal to GM since my dad worked for them. My best friend Miguel has a room mate named Jeff who owns a 93 Civic hatchback. I never thought much of it really but Miguel kept telling me it was a FAST car. See- here in Gettysburg there isn't much of a "car scene", So any car that is fast is interesting to me. The Civic is primered gray, and looks beat up. Total sleeper. I don't know much about the engine, mainly because I only know GM stuff. But I do know the Civic has a B16 engine (I'm guessing this is semi-powerful Honda engine) with vtec, and has a header, cams, full exhaust, and some other stuff. The only car I ever wanted was a Firebird or Camaro, (except the late 80's early 90's style) I LOVE the older and newer ones. I think they're very eye catching, and sharp looking. I bought a V6 Firebird a while back, mainly because it was much cheaper on gas and insurance. If I wanted to go fast I would of gotten the V8, but having a car that looks good is fine with me. I mean, I know my Firebird is somewhat faster than your average car, but it's no dragster. Anyway let me get to the point- I've been getting to know Jeff some and he's a pretty cool guy. The other day we were driving around and I tried to outrun Jeff from a stop sign. I gave it all the Firebird had and he literally stayed 2 feet from me! I was suprised! I knew his car was faster than mine, but I just wanted to see how I would do agasint him. I knew I wouldn't gain on him, but I thought I would of pulled away just a little bit at first, but nope. When we got to my house he told me he wasn't completely getting on it either. All I could say was "wow!". I've never raced my car before, so I never realized that "smaller cars" with 4 cylinders were really that quick. Honda has my respect now....not that I didn't have any before, but after seeing what they can do, they're not too bad. Sorry for all the rambling, but I just wanted to tell all you Honda enthusiasts that a die-hard GM fan thinks Honda makes good products.

I read it. I'll be the first to say, if you're interested in learning about Honda Civics, you've come to the right place. I'll personally entertain any questions you have about them.

That Civic you raced isn't fast. A B16 swap will get you into the high 14s.

EDIT: Cliffs for the lazy:

Always been a GM guy
Raced B16 swapped Civic
Got beaten by B16 swapped Civic in a V6 Firebird
Has respect for Hondas now.
